Another of last year’s releases was Domestic Disturbance, starring John Travolta as a divorced father who suspects his wife’s new husband isn’t what he claims to be. As he’s played by Vince Vaughn, this is more or less obviously true and we just have to wait for the plot to catch up with the audience. Steve Buscemi disappears too early as an ex-con friend of Vaughn, and all the cast turn in as good performances as can be expected.
The New England coast again provides an atmospheric thriller background, and it’s hard to figure out why this got a big budget and cast when it could easily have been a TV movie starring Tim Matheson.
